The countdown of the top ten stories of the 2020-21 school year for Melcher-Dallas takes us to the court for one of the best seasons in recent history for a great volleyball season.

The Saints finished the season with an overall record of 23-3 and a 4-0 record in Bluegrass Conference play. The great season from the squad led to them winning the conference title. The season included winning streaks of eight and ten games respectively. The most exciting games of the season for Melcher-Dallas came in the Bluegrass Conference Championship and Regional quarterfinal against Lamoni.

The conference championship at Twin Cedars resulted in Melcher-Dallas winning three sets to one. Riley Enfield had 25 assists and Kynser Reed had 22 digs. The Saints routed the Demons in the final set, 25-11. In the regional quarterfinal, Melcher-Dallas won in five sets, 3-2. In a back and forth affair, the Saints edged out Lamoni in the final set 16-14. The Enfield twins, Riley and Kacey led the way as Riley had 28 assists while Kacey had 23 digs.

The season would end for Melcher-Dallas in their next game, losing in straight sets to New London. However, 2020 will go down as one of the greatest seasons in Melcher-Dallas volleyball history.
