Several resolutions were approved by the Pella City Council Tuesday evening.

Council set a public hearing on September 7th for a proposed urban renewal plan for the Prairie Ridge commercial area, and approved a cost-sharing agreement for southwest sanitary sewer improvements, engineering services agreements for that project and a turn lane for West Washington Street and Fifield Road, a contract amendment for hotel-motel tax revenues with the Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau, and approval of additions to Wonder Spelen and the miracle playground at Kiwanis Park.

The first reading of ordinances to amend planned unit development zoning agreements for the Prairie Ridge and South Main developments were also approved. A Policy and Planning session was held to discuss a request from an elected official regarding local streets, specifically, to review local gravel roads in the city limits and discuss the timeframes in which they will be upgraded to either a hard surface or an urban paved street.
