The Indianola City Council approved the bid for streetlights on the Indianola downtown square for just over $150,000 at their most recent meeting. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the existing lighting is old, difficult and expensive to repair and find parts to replace, and not energy efficient. Waller said the city partnered with IMU, and the bids came back favorably for the city after an estimate of approximately $200,000, so the city saved just under $50,000.
