While the offense was better and the defense came up with four pick offs, the Knoxville Football Squad still fell to Oskaloosa on Friday 35-0 as heard live on 95.3 KNIA. The Panthers were able to get some offense going but like last week, drives would always stall out, some deep in Oskaloosa territory. The Indians got up by 14-0 early on by using a quick strike offense and led 21-0 at the half. While the Panthers were 0/10 on third down conversions, they went 3/7 on 4th down conversions to keep drives alive. Coach Eric Kellar told KNIA/KRLS Sports while frustrated with drives not completed, he was happy with the effort.

Kellar:
“With the guys we have out, Noah went down and two linemen out. We had some good things, a few times we were out of position and went the wrong way on a block. But, the stay with it and were still encouraging each other, I cannot fault them for their effort.”

Quarterback Noah Keefer went down with an elbow injury at the end of the first half and was held out in the second. He is hopeful Keefer will be able to play next Friday. Knoxville was led by Gavin Montalvo’s six carries for 23 yards. Knoxville is 0-2 on the season and will host Carlisle Friday at Ken Locke Stadium.
