The Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department recently purchased a new fire truck. Captain Mike Gamble says taxpayer money was well spent on equipment that will help the department do their jobs as smoothly as possible.

“It really helps when things are newer. Warranties can be a big thing sometimes too. We don’t put a lot of miles on them, luckily, but to have things operating like they’re supposed to, and to be able to re-certify the pump and that kind of stuff, it says a lot to have newer equipment. They do cost quite a bit, and we thank everyone who’s paying taxes and allowing us to have the equipment that we do. To have the equipment operate like it’s supposed to, that’s the biggest key.”

The new truck was on display at a 9/11 anniversary event last weekend in Knoxville.
