The Knoxville Volleyball Squad went 3-2 at the Bondurant-Farrar Invitational on Saturday which gave Coach Mollie Keitges her 100th career coaching win. The Panthers took down Lewis Central 2-1 21-19, 18-21, and 22-20 led by Brittany Bacorn’s nine kills and Emma Dunkin’s 17 digs. Dallas Center-Grimes was the Panthers’ next victim also 2-1 21-17, 15-21, and 15-10 as Melanie Sullivan led in serving going 14/14. Knoxville’s only sweep was against Atlantic in two sets 21-18 and 21-16. The Panthers fell to class 4A #7 Bondurant-Farrar in two sets and class 5A #7 Cedar Rapids Kennedy in two sets. Keitges tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that while the early part of the season has seen its struggles, she is confident the girls will be at their best once the later part of the season rolls around.

Keitges:
“At this point after 3 tough conference losses it would be easy to get discouraged, but they come back to practice every day really energized and ready to get better, and that’s why I’m confident teams will be a little leary to see us in October.”

Knoxville is now 11-7 on the season and will travel to Clarke on Tuesday.
