The Pella Christian Volleyball team had their work cut out for them in their return to Eagle Lane last night as they held off Dallas Center-Grimes in 5 sets with set scores of 25-23, 25-22, 15-25, 18-25, and 15-9.

Sarah Gritters led the Eagles in match with 18 kills and 16 digs, and added two aces. In her return from a concussion, Natalie Harrill tallied 15 digs, two aces, and four assists. Chloe Huisman posted 42 assists, 10 digs, two aces, and a block and Trinity Vos added 15 kills and four blocks in the Eagles first home victory of the season. Following the win, Vos said that the Pella Christian crowd provided some energy that helped spark the Eagles in the victory.

“We have such a great following of supporters. Our student section, our parents, our grandparents, and other people who don’t have any relation to the team at all come out and support us, and that makes a huge impact to see all those people out there supporting us no matter what.”

With the win the Eagles’ record moves to 5-10 ahead of their home tournament Saturday, when they welcome Albia, Grand View Christian, and Knoxville to Eagle Lane.
