Marion County residents have until Thursday to make property tax payments before they become delinquent. Treasurer Michaela Bigaouette tells KNIA/KRLS News there are a variety of ways to pay.

“We have four different ways you can pay. You can pay through the mail, we have a dropbox at the courthouse. You can come into the courthouse, and you don’t need an appointment. You can make an online payment for 25 cents. It’s very handy, you don’t even have to leave your house to pay your property taxes.”

A 1.5 percent penalty will be assessed if these payments become delinquent on October 1st. Bigaouette encourages anyone with questions to contact her office.
