The No. 10 Pella volleyball team will host a wide range of talented schools for their annual invitational this Saturday.

No. 1 in 5A Liberty, No. 8 in 4A Bondurant-Farrar, No. 5 in 1A Holy Trinity, Knoxville, and Mediapolis will all come to Pella High School for two round robin brackets.

Pella Head Coach Mallory Peterson and Junior Jasmine Namminga both expect the group to be another way to prepare for the upcoming Little Hawkeye Conference tournament and the regional playoffs.

“It’s a really good opportunity for finding that consistency when we play different levels of teams, how can we come in here this weekend and not ever really play down and just up to our potential,” Peterson says.

“Even last weekend at Urbandale, facing some bigger 5A schools, we’re really setting ourselves up for success by playing those bigger schools and getting in the mentality of how we can fight,” Namminga says.

Matches from the Pella volleyball invitational begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, and will be livestreamed on Pella Dutch Live.
