The Simpson College women’s soccer team snapped a 14-match winless streak against Dubuque in a big way by earning a 3-0 shutout on the road Tuesday evening, while the men were handed a 2-0 defeat at the first place Spartans.
The Storm women got a pair of goals from Hailey Kowzan and an additional goal from Cassie Nash as Bennie Frederick got two saves as the Storm dominated on the defensive end. The Storm are now 2-2 in conference play.
The Storm men held the Spartans scoreless in the first half, then after allowing a goal the Storm were forced to push and allow more chances. Simpson is now 2-2 in conference play, and both squads will next play Luther at home this Saturday.
