With three new Indianola School Board members set to be elected in November, as Carolyn Langenwalter, Laurie Abernathy, and Ken Bresnan all not seeking re-election, the new board will have to decide on the new sub-committees the board currently has in place. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the committee structure is so the board members can have a little more time to get better acquainted with a subject and be able to answer questions for the rest of the board.

“We have a variety of committees, smaller groups that are not quorums. No action is taken, and they meet in the mornings during the month and give updates at regular board meetings. They will be decided by the new board. We have committees on curriculum, technology, facilities, finance, human resources, and policy. It gives those members on those particular committees a chance to take a deeper dive, a chance to learn more and report to the full board.”

The full interview regarding the committee structure can be found below.
