The #7 in Class 1A Pella Christian Football team clinched the second spot in District 6 with a 42-7 Senior Night victory over Central Decatur Friday Night, as heard live on the KRLS2 stream.

The Eagles offense had another masterful performance putting up 385 total yards and six touchdowns. Isaac Kacmarynski found Bennett Spronk in the endzone for an eight yard touchdown to start the scoring. Kacmarynski then ran for two touchdowns, before connecting with Eric Mulder for a 20 yard touchdown to give Pella Christian a 28-7 lead midway through the second quarter. Following the lone Cardinals touchdown, Kacmarynski and Mulder connected on a jump ball from two yards out to give the Eagles a 35-7 lead at halftime.

The second half saw just one touchdown as Kacmarynski scored his sixth touchdown of the night on a 66 yard touchdown run. While Isaac Kacmarynski showed up all over the stat sheet, Pella Christian Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski credits the entire offense for their quarterback’s success.

“It all starts with the O-Line, our O-Line continuing to mature, doing some great things there. And Isaac is also continuing to mature, he’s making better decisions, better throws, better runs. And then he’s got a great cast around him. Again this is a very talented receiving core, and our running back core is good, so it’s kind of fun calling plays with guys like that.”

The Eagles improved to 7-1 on the season and 4-1 in district play. Pella Christian will begin postseason action by hosting a first round playoff game this Friday.

Coming off a 5th place finish in the Little Hawkeye Conference Tournament on Thursday, The Pella Christian Volleyball team will wrap up their regular season this morning competing in the Knoxville Volleyball tournament.
