indianola-3

After qualifying as a team for another year to the state meet in Fort Dodge, the goal from the Indianola girls cross country team is to now improve their standing against the state’s best. Head coach Kim Arndt tells KNIA Sports the goal all season long was to have their best performance not at conference or districts as in previous seasons, but to peak at the final meet of the season.

“We vowed we are not going up there to settle for 15th place. We are going up expecting to battle and we hope to go up and knock off some more teams. We coach to this meet, the other meets are just practice, and I think it would be a good way to end their season on a high note.”

Arndt also said a good showing will bring momentum for next year because they bring back eight of their top nine runners, as well as more talented runners on the way.
