Many runners at the State Cross Country Meet this weekend have teammates to run with, others like Twin Cedars Runner Ryle Dunkin qualified as individuals and they will be the only ones wearing their uniform on Saturday. Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports, while she loves her teammates and wishes they could run with her, she has had to dig within herself to get ready and find the needed motivation.

Dunkin: “I don’t have as many teammates as other team have, and I love my teammates and respect them very much, but I’m going to have to do this myself and work hard to go up there and compete and hopefully finish in the top 10 to get that All-State recognition.”

Dunkin is going for her third All-State designation after finishing 7th in her freshman season and 10th last year. The girls class 1A race is scheduled to get underway at 2:30 on Saturday.
