A pair of Indianola High School athletes made commitments to continue their athletic and academic careers at the next level Wednesday, with Emma Kluver committing to Ottawa University in Kansas to play volleyball, and Lauren Blake attending the University of Central Missouri. Blake said she will be playing basketball at Central Missouri, which was a tough decision because that means she has to give up another sport.

“It was a really hard decision. I knew that I was going to be sad either way if I chose volleyball or basketball, I really can’t imagine giving either one of them up. But when I went to visit Central Missouri I just felt like I was home. I think that I can contribute there early on in my career, and I just think that if I miss volleyball maybe I can go talk to them and see if I can be the manager or something. So I just really liked it, it was a hard decision for sure but in the end I really liked everything about it so I decided to go there.”

National signing day for high school athletes to choose a college is on February 3rd.
