The Knoxville First United Methodist Church is hosting a meal program called Cooking For a Cause. Congregation member Bonnie Crook says this is a free meal program held once a month to provide fellowship and help people make ends meet.

“It’s totally free, we don’t even put out a basket for donations. We want to treat anyone that comes in with a meal. We also deliver some meals after we’re done. It’s feeding the body and the soul, and we enjoy doing that.”

These meals will be served the last Wednesday of each month at the church from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. This month’s meal will be various soups. Produce grown by members of the congregation will also be served. Everyone is welcome to attend this free monthly meal.
