The Knoxville School Board reviewed enrollment at its most recent meeting. Superintendent Cassi Pearson says along with increased enrollment, other figures are trending in the right direction.
“Overall our enrollment is healthy, in fact we’re up a little bit. Our actual enrollment that we bring money in for is for all the students that live in the Knoxville district. We’re up one and a half students on that end. The students we actually serve are up three and a half. The good news for us is we have fewer students who are open enrolling out. That’s something we’ve been working on for a couple of years, trying to continue to provide more opportunities for students. With all the housing projects that are cropping up here in Knoxville, we anticipate enrollment will continue to increase over the next few years.”
