Three of the four winter sports at Knoxville will have new coaches this season. Both basketball, and wrestling will be under new leadership when their respective seasons get underway in the next week. Matt Ritchhart is the new girls basketball coach. Ritchhart is the current girls soccer coach and was the boys interim coach last year compiling an 8-5 record replacing Jim Uitermarkt, who stepped down after 14 seasons. Troy Pearson is the new head coach for the Panther boys basketball program. Pearson previously was head coach at Twin Cedars for a season in 2019. Pearson is also the Director of Facilities and Operations for Knoxville Schools. Wrestling is the 3rd sport to have a new coach this winter as Skylar Spaur was promoted from assistant to head coach when Doug Hatch stepped aside after last season. Bowling is the only sport to not have a new coach as Shaun Renard will return this season. Girls basketball gets underway next Tuesday against PCM, following the annual Pride Game against Ottumwa on Thursday, .the boys also tip off their season against PCM on November 30th, Wrestling is set to open up against Nevada on December 2nd, and Bowling will start up on December 4th at Newton.
