Just like the volleyball squad, the Melcher-Dallas Basketball Squads will be homeless this season. The high school gym is unusable for at least the next two seasons due to damage caused by winter weather last season. Girls Coach Kelsey Goff tells KNIA Sports she hopes this inconvenience teaches the girls about setbacks and hopes the fans, while playing their home games on the road, will still come out and support the girls.

Goff: “I think it’s going to build a lot of character and see how tough these girls are. Hopefully the fans will come to our home games at Southeast Warren and they will come out to our close games and support the girls when they’re playing.”

Melcher-Dallas passed a bond measure to help build a new gym and other needed renovations to the building, but likely will not be ready for use until the 2023/2024 school year. The Saints, in the meantime will play their home games at Southeast Warren High School, who says Goff has done a great job of stepping up in their difficult time.
