The Twin Cedars Girls Basketball Squad will try to build off of an 11-11 season from last year by starting off tonight at Orient-Macksburg. The Sabers have a half of a game under their belt with a jamboree game last week against Cardinal, where the Sabers fell in two quarters of play 28-23. Coach Zack Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the Comets exposed some things his team needs to work on ,and he hopes after a few days of practice his team is ready to go for four quarters tonight.

Dunkin: “Need to work on taking better care of the ball, need to work on the post offense and be better with the ball and be stronger with it, some things that we wouldn’t have seen if we hadn’t had that scrimmage.”

The Sabers return a lot of experience from last season’s squad including leading scorer Brooke Roby, who is just 220 from the 1,000 career point mark. Also returning are Rylee Dunkin and Cheyanne Bruns, both averaged just under eight points per game last year. Tip off is scheduled for 6:00 at Orient-Macksburg.
