First year Knoxville Wrestling Coach Skyler Spaur already has set some ambitious goals for his team this season. Spaur says they want to compete for the South Central Conference meet, which is being hosted by Knoxville this year, and win every duel before the Christmas break.

Spaur: “We’re hoping to win a tournament, maybe the conference tournament, we’re going to compete hard and we just want to make sure our opponents don’t want to wrestle a Knoxville kid again.”

Spaur adds that within ten years, he wants the program to be known about the state as a program that contends for the state dual meet and contends for multiple state individual championships on a yearly basis. The Panthers get their season underway on Thursday at home against Nevada.
