Wrestling and girls basketball are in action tonight for Knoxville. The Panther Grapplers host Nevada for the season opening dual. Knoxville has a lot of younger but experienced wrestlers this season plus new Coach Skyler Spaur will coach his first varsity match. Spaur tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the preseason has been spent on getting everyone ready for the first match and refining their moves.

Spaur: “Building their style of wrestling and how they want to go out their and compete and just working to get everyone on the same page.”

First bouts are scheduled for 6:00 at Knoxville High School. The girls basketball squad will play its second game of the season on the road against Van Meter. The Panthers are 1-0 after a win last week over PCM. Coach Matt Ritchhart tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Van Meter is an improving program, who lost to ADM in its season opener. Tip off is scheduled for 7:15.
