The South Central Conference Wrestling meet is tonight and the Knoxville Panthers will host. Knoxville has a dual and a tournament under its belt so far this season with an easy win over Nevada last Thursday and a 2nd place finish at Nodaway Valley on Saturday. Wrestlers Luke Spaur and Marco Alejo tell KNIA/KRLS Sports they are looking forward to hosting and winning the conference and seeing their teammates improve throughout the season.

Luke: “Win it as a team and as an individual and perform for the fans.”
Marco: “Watching the team grow and learn we have a bunch of new guys, and just seeing myself get better.”

Coach Skyler Spaur says two or three teams could contend for the title tonight as traditional powers Albia and Centerville look strong along with Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont and an improving Chariton. First bouts get underway at 6:00 tonight at Knoxville High School.
