indianola-3

Both the Indianola boys and girls basketball teams will look to get back in the win column tonight, hosting the Eagles of Pella Christian. The Indians boys haven’t played since falling in a nailbiting contest to Pella last Friday night, and will have difficulty against the length of Pella Christian, who have four players 6’5 or taller on their roster. Head coach Jeff Ebling tells KNIA Sports he is still working on things with this talented roster.

“I think so far, they’ve done fairly well and we can adjust how we do things as we learn more down the road. We’ll adjust things as a staff and be ready to rock and roll Friday.”

The #2 Indians girls are coming off a loss to Lewis Central on the road earlier this week, where they scored just 35 points in a game that went to overtime, and shot just 24.5% from the field.

The game can be heard live on the KRLS2 stream on KNIAKRLS.com in addition to the Indianola Activities YouTube channel with Andrew Swadner and Andrew Schneider on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 5:45, with tip-off scheduled for 6:15.

Indianola Wrestling Falls to DCG

The Indianola wrestling team fell to conference rival Dallas Center-Grimes Thursday evening 44-33 on the road. Ryder Downey picked up a win by fall at 145lbs and Ryan Young won by fall at 113lbs, while Walker Whalen at 195lbs, James Naughton at 220lbs, and Cael Crawford all won by major decision to pick up points for the Indians, but the Mustangs won too many matches to come back from. The Indians next wrestle tomorrow in a tournament at Johnston.
