The Knoxville Basketball Squads continue their week long road trip to Chariton tonight. The girls are smarting from a 50-43 loss to Clarke to open the conference season on Tuesday and the boys were never in the game in a 35 point setback to the Indians. The girls will have a difficult task against the consensus favorite for the conference title and Chariton’s post player Avery Hall finally healthy after injuring her knee two years ago. The boys will have a chance at a Chargers squad that has started 0-3 on the season and have not been close in any of their games. That said, Panthers Coach Troy Pearson is not worrying about who they are playing, he says his team needs to get better at defense and running the offense.

Pearson: “I told the kids before Christmas we’re concentrating on us, we’re not watching a lot of film on the opponent, we’ll tell them what the starters do, but we have to get better at what we do before we worry about what our opponent does.”

The girls game is set to begin at 6:30. You can hear the game streamed only at kniakrls.com KNIA3 due to Christmas music on KNIA tonight at 6:15.
