The Norwalk basketball teams are back at home tonight for the second Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheader of the season, as the Warriors welcome Pella to town.

The girls game will feature a pair of teams who both look to move above .500, as both teams have split their first four games. However, Norwalk has a chance to stay in the top half of the standings with a win, while the Dutch will look for their first conference win. A Warrior win would be just their fourth over Pella in the last decade.

In the boys game, the Warriors look to build upon their first win, but the schedule doesn’t get any easier with the reigning 3A champs coming to town. Head Coach Aaron Pelzer says while it’ll be a challenge, getting the first win Monday will do wonders for the team’s confidence.

“It’ll be really important to carry it forward. The schedule doesn’t get easier. We’ll have to be just as tough and just as physically and mentally focused, and we’ll give it our best shot. It feels good and it’s a monkey off our guys back, to know we can win some games. We’ll be fine, we just have to keep battling.”

While Norwalk enters with the momentum of their first win, Pella enters off their first loss, an 82-69 setback to Washington on Tuesday. The Dutch swept last year’s games.

Tonight’s doubleheader will air on 92.1 KRLS with Jon Mohwinkle and Trevor Castle on the call. Pregame coverage begins at 5:45, with the opening tipoff from Norwalk at 6:15.
