PCM’s boys’ basketball squad is currently halfway through the season, and they need to find consistent defensive prowess in order to make a push towards the top of the Heart of Iowa Conference.

The Mustangs have given up 70 or more points in five games this season, including giving up 77 in their last game against Roland-Story. PCM has also given up 82 to Nevada, 78 to Pella Christian, 71 to Greene County and 77 to North Mahaska. The Mustangs are 0-5 in those games. On the other hand, PCM can score at will, topping 70 points in three games this season. The Mustangs scored 77 in the opener at Knoxville, 71 at North Mahaska, and 70 against Perry. PCM can score at will, but they give up almost as many points as they score.

The first test for the Mustangs in 2022 will be on January 7 as part of a girls/boys Heart of Iowa Conference doubleheader when PCM takes a trip to Jewell to take on South Hamilton.
