Nearly two weeks after their last games, the Knoxville basketball Squads will jump back into action after enjoying a break with a tough stretch of games starting tonight at Centerville. The girls will especially be tested with the South Central Conference leader as the Redetts are 4-0 in conference play and have only lost once all season overall. Coach Matt Ritchhart tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he is confident heading into this first week of 2022, but knows his team must play well to avoid any let downs.
Ritchhart: “We feel we can get Centerville, we feel we can get anybody, but we also know anyone can get us. We have a tough stretch in conference and then when we step out of conference we have Grinnell, and Bondurant those will be tough.”
The boys are confident they can start off the second half of the season against a Centerville squad that has struggled to find wins and consistency this season. Coach Troy Pearson has been preaching about taking good shots whether they are a three or a closer midrange shot. Listen for the call on 95.3 KNIA with the pregame starting at 6:15.
