Due to impending winter weather, the Knoxville Basketball games with Clarke have been moved from Friday to tonight to avoid another postponement and risk running out of dates to make up games. The two schools met in December with Clarke pulling the sweep over the Panthers winning by seven in the girls game and handling things in the boys contest. Knoxville Boys Coach Troy Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports defense has been his big emphasis of the day and trying to get transition baskets out of that defensive play.

Pearson: “A lot of our offense comes from the defense. When we get stops we want to get into transition offense, and when we get into transition that gives us the best chance to score. So that’s what we’ve been working on.”

The girls felt one got away against Clarke in the last game between the two schools in December and Coach Matt Ritchhart tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Clarke has struggled of late, but with sickness and injury the Indians are still a team not to be taken lightly. Listen to the action on 95.3 KNIA tonight beginning at 6:15, audio will also be provided on the KHS Activities You Tube Channel.
