The Panthers vs. Cancer event at Knoxville is Saturday and there will be many events surrounding the day at Knoxville High School along with alumni games starting at 8:00am, the girls/boys doubleheader with Chariton and the honors ceremony in between games. Girls Basketball Players Anna Buttell, Brittany Bacorn, and Charlee Heffron tell KNIA/KRLS there are a lot of reasons for fans and the public to come to games, to help raise awareness and money for Cancer research ,to the gym being filled with the color pink.

Anna: “I think it is a big community event. Seeing a huge portion of the Knoxville population in our gym and helping raise money for this event.”
Brittany: “I think a big turnout would be great, you get to watch two great basketball games, and the JV games and raise money and awareness.”
Charlee: “It’s an opportunity to play in front of a crowd full of pink, it’s just a good place to be.”

KNIA/KRLS will have live coverage of the event all day long on Saturday with reports throughout the day and live coverage of the basketball games with the honors ceremony on 95.3 KNIA with audio provided on the KHS Activities Youtube Channel.
