The Simpson men’s basketball team fell to the Prairie Wolves of Nebraska Wesleyan on the road Monday evening in American Rivers Conference play, falling just short 77-73. The Storm jumped out to an early lead from tip-off, but then saw a nine-point advantage slowly whittled away and the teams battled back and forth for the rest of the half as Simpson led 38-36 at the break. The Prairie Wolves then mounted several runs to build a double-digit deficit in the second half, but Simpson refused to go away and battled all the way back to get the lead down to 2 with just minutes to go, however a late turnover doomed the comeback attempt. Tajen Ross scored 24 points to lead the squad. The Storm fall to 4-13 overall and 1-7 in conference play, and will have a quick turnaround as they host the Duhawks of Loras College tomorrow.
