indianola-8

The Indianola girls and boys basketball teams continue Little Hawkeye Conference play tonight on the road against the Tigers of Grinnell. The Indians girls are in a tie for second in the conference standings with the Tigers, and Indianola will look for a replay of the first matchup where the Indians held the high-flying Grinnell offense to just 36 points and 23% shooting from the field. The winner of the contest still has a chance for a conference title, while the loser is most likely eliminated from the chase.
The Indians boys put up their highest point total of the season with 88 points in their last meeting with the Tigers in a 30-point victory, and will most likely have to win their remaining four contests to have a shot at the conference title, as they sit a game back of Dallas Center-Grimes, in a three-way tie along with Pella and Pella Christian. Head coach Jeff Ebling tells KNIA Sports the fun thing about the conference race is anyone can beat anyone, and you can’t take a night off just because of the team’s record.
The games can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 6pm, with tip-off at 6:15.
