Despite improving their win total from four to six this season, PCM’s girls basketball squad continues to battle injuries throughout the season.

The Mustangs started off by sitting Paige Steenhoek out in the middle of the season due to a stress fracture in her shin. PCM then got thinner on the bench, losing Evelyn Burkett due to a broken hand and Elianna Buswell to concussion protocol. The injuries continue to bring PCM down as they have now likely lost Sophia Steenhoek for the season due to a partial tear in her quad. Despite Paige Steenhoek returning to the lineup, the Mustangs continue to struggle offensively this season.

The shorthanded Mustangs go on the road to #13 in Class 3A Roland-Story Friday night, which is the first half of a Heart of Iowa Conference doubleheader that will be broadcast on the KRLS3 stream at kniakrls.com.
