PCM’s basketball squads will have their final doubleheader of the season, which is a home Heart of Iowa Conference doubleheader against South Hamilton.

The Mustangs’ girls will try to break their three-game losing streak tonight, including losing to No. 7 in Class 3A Roland-Story Friday night. PCM continues to fight through injuries as they have shuffled their lineup throughout the season. The Mustangs are currently without Sophia Steenhoek, Elianna Buswell, Evelyn Burkett, and Emily Foster. Steenhoek has missed time due to a partial tear in her quad. Buswell and Foster are both currently in concussion protocol and Burkett is out for the season with a broken hand. PCM lost to South Hamilton in the first matchup January 7th 55-31.

The Mustangs’ boys will try to get their 12th win of the season, matching their win total from 2019-20. PCM currently stands third in the Heart of Iowa Conference behind No. 12 in Class 2A Roland-Story and Nevada. With a win, the Mustangs would get their ninth Heart of Iowa Conference win, the most by PCM in a season since they went 10-3 in 2018-19. PCM won the first matchup between the two squads in dominating fashion, 55-22.

The doubleheader at PCM gets underway with the girls’ game tipping off at 6:00 PM.
