The Indianola School Board has selected Theodore Ihns as the next Superintendent of Indianola Schools, pending a final background check.

Ihns was one of three finalists for the position as named earlier this week, and currently serves as superintendent of Howard-Winneshiek Community Schools in Cresco, and has done so since 2017. Prior to that position, Ihns has worked as a physical education teacher and coach, as well as assistant principal and principal positions in Iowa and Minnesota.

Thirty applicants applied for the position, and Ihns will assume the duties of Superintendent beginning July 1st, 2022.
