The Simpson softball team went 1-1 on Saturday to end their competition in The Spring Games in Florida, falling to Washington and Jefferson 3-0, and taking down Curry 8-3 in the finale. The Storm could not get the offense going in game one, tallying just two hits and earning just five baserunners, as a two-run home run by the Presidents was enough to earn the win. Game two saw the Storm fall ahead 1-0 after three-and-a-half innings, but a two-run fourth got them behind going into the fifth inning. The offense exploded from there, scoring four in the fifth, one in the sixth, and two more in the seventh to earn the win. The Storm are now 12-5 to start the season, and have one more weekend of non-conference action, traveling to Greenville and Monmouth in Illinois for a pair of doubleheaders.
