The Indianola and Norwalk girls and boys track and field teams represented Warren County at the Little Hawkeye Conference Indoor Track and Field Meet at Grinnell College Thursday afternoon.

No team scores were kept at the meet, however top finishers for the Indians boys included a 1st place finish for Gavin Legg in the High Jump, while Jonce Hale placed 2nd in the same event, Walker Whalen placed 2nd in the Shot Put, Jack Hilton 3rd in the 400m, and the 4×200 relay team placed 3rd.

Head coach Matt Oliver tells KNIA Sports the early season indoor meets are a great way to see where the athletes are at mechanically, however it is important to not take the results too seriously as there is a lot of time to improve.

The Indians girls had Emily Naughton place 2nd in the 400m and first in the 800m, Josie McGraw place 2nd in the 60m Hurdles, Lauren Blake was tied for 1st in the High Jump, 4×200 relay team 1st, and the 4x800m relay team placed 1st.

The Norwalk boys saw Ben Hanson place 2nd in the 400m, Brody Lucas 2nd in the 800m, Braedon Carlson 3rd in the Long Jump, and the 4x800m relay team place 2nd.

Claire Farrell once again paced the Norwalk girls with 1st place finishes in the 60m Dash and 200m, Marin Randall placed 2nd in the Long Jump, Kady Vandemark placed 2nd in the Shot Put, and the Shuttle Hurdle relay team placed 2nd.
