Triumph Martial Arts recently offered a free self-defense class for Central College Students.

On Thursday, March 10, Matt and Chris White of Triumph shared training and knowledge with a Think SAFE Self-Defense seminar on campus.

“When we were approached by the Students Against Sexual Assault group at Central and asked to help by teaching self-defense to students on campus, we jumped at the chance,” they said. With three children ourselves, and one heading off to college next year, we understand how important it is to teach our kids to be safe when away from home.”

According to Matt, despite most college campuses being extremely safe environments, there is always the potential for threats and intimidation. Triumph regularly provides personal safety and self-defense training to schools, youth groups, community groups, and businesses and organizations in the community, most recently at the Pella Police Department.

Triumph is partnering with the Students Against Sexual Assault group again to offer a second free Think SAFE Self-Defense seminar to Central students in April.
