The Indianola girls track and field team placed 6th at Waukee Northwest Tuesday scoring 26 points. Top finishers for the Indians include Grace Gioffredi 2nd in the 100m, Julie Coffey 2nd in the discus, Emily Naughton 4th in the 1500m, and the 4×400 relay, 4×800 relay, and distance medley team all placed 4th. Head coach Kim Arndt said it will be a challenge later in the year to put together the best scoring team possible, since there are a lot of athletes who are good at multiple events. The Indians next compete Thursday at Ankeny.

The Indianola girls soccer team fell to Pella 2-1 in Little Hawkeye Conference action Tuesday at Indianola stadium. The Indians and Dutch were tied in the first half, but Pella scored a late goal in the second half to pull away with the win. The Indians fall to 1-4, and play Des Moines North on the road on Friday.

The Indians boys soccer team fell behind in the first three minutes on the road at Pella 1-0, but held the Dutch offense the rest of the way, unfortunately for the Indians they couldn’t muster a goal and fell 1-0. The Indians are now 0-2 to start the year, and host Des Moines Hoover on Friday.
