The Indianola girls soccer team ended a streak of tough games on the road at Des Moines North Friday evening winning 6-0, while the boys team fell to Des Moines Hoover 3-1 at home.
The Indians girls went up 2-0 in the first half with goals from Mia Lerseth and Lauren Philippi, then exploded in the second half for four goals, with Abby Jensen earning a brace, Isabelle Crookes, and Angelika Miller all scoring. Head coach Erin Ebling tells KNIA Sports the Indians are a close knit team, and they will try to continue to build on that chemistry throughout the season.Indianola improves to 2-4 on the season, and travel to Pella Christian on Tuesday.

The Indians boys once again held tough on the defensive end, only allowing a free kick goal with less than a minute in the first half to go into the break down 1-0, and Hoover converted on a penalty early in the second half to go up 2-0. Jackson Sinclair had the loan goal for the Indians on an assist from Steph Stark. Indianola is now 0-3 to start the season, and have a tough day in front of them competing in a tournament at Urbandale beginning at 11:30.
