The Pella Christian Boys Tennis team cruised to an easy 7-2 victory Thursday on the road at Davis County

The Eagles top singles player Alejo Marcon dominated against the Mustangs’ Dean Bragg in an 8-1 victory. Isaac Natelborg was an 8-2 winner over Jaxson Lee in the number two spot in the singles lineup and the Eagles number three singles player Shaun Oosterheert defeated Cayler Wuthrich 8-4. In the number five and six spots in the singles lineup, Toby Vander Molen and Aaron Meinders came away with wins in their matches to secure the overall match win for the Eagles. In doubles action, the Eagles won two out of the three matches. Marcon and Natelborg swept their match 8-0 in the top doubles spot in the lineup, and Oosterheert and Carson Tukker won in the third doubles spot 8-6. After going 2-0 this week, Head Coach Aaron Fitzgerald was thrilled with the results and thinks the squad can be even better this year.

“There’s obviously still things we’re going to work on this year, and they’ll be the first to say there’s things that they want to improve in their game, definitely. We’re just going to continue to focus on building those guys up and getting them ready to play at the next level, wherever that is or whatever that happens to be for them.”

Pella Christian Boys Tennis evened up their record at 2-2 on the season. The Eagles next match is on Monday when they host Oskaloosa at 4:15 p.m.

The #4 ranked Eagles Boys Soccer squad fell behind early and were unable to climb out of the hole as they fell to Norwalk 5-0. The Warriors jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first half, before netting another goal in the second half to down the Eagles. Pella Christian struggled offensively once again Thursday night, as they were shut out for the second time in three days. The Eagles record now sits at 2-3 on the season after dropping all three games on the week. Pella Christian will look to turn things around on Tuesday at 5 p.m. when they travel to Grinnell.
