Local law enforcement is taking part in a national bi-annual prescription drug take back program this Saturday.

Captain Paul Haase with the Pella Police Department says they will be accepting unused and expired prescription drugs for safe disposal.

“As a department, it keeps prescription drugs out of the hands of other people that are not prescribed those drugs,” Haase says.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is also participating in the national program from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. this Saturday.
