No. 10 in 2A Pella edged Oskaloosa in a boys soccer matchup 4-3 that went to extra PKs Tuesday. The road team opened the first minute of the 2nd half with a goal, and the Dutch ended up with a costly-own goal to fall behind 3-1. Pella got one back on a great header by Logan Solomon from a cross in the 53rd minute, and with only about 12 minutes left, freshman substitute Tyson Barnes sent a ball across that beat the Oskaloosa keeper and tied it 3-3. The game went to OT, but Pella could not capitalize over two extra periods, despite having the majority of the possession. In PKs, the first round of 5 shots ended tied 3-3, with Levi Van Dusseldorp hitting the winning kick and Tyler Killoren making the game-winning save. The Dutch improve to 10-1 overall and host ADM and Hudson for their home tournament Saturday morning, starting at 9 a.m. in a state quarterfinals rematch.
