The Indianola girls golf team placed 2nd at the Corky Nydle Invitational in Ottumwa Tuesday, while the Indians girls soccer team fell in a close matchup to Newton 2-1.

The Indianola golf squad shot a 421 team score to edge out Keokuk for second place, and were led individually by freshman Camryn Overton with a 96 in the 18-hole meet, senior Kinzey Johnston shot a 101, and freshman Reese Lucas carding a 109. The Indians continue their busy week with a tournament at Veenker Golf Course in Ames tomorrow.

The Indians girls soccer squad held the visiting Cardinals scoreless in the first half but were unable to take advantage of the strong defensive play themselves and both teams went into the break tied at zero. Indianola got a goal from Annaliese Miller in the second half, but surrendered two goals to the Cardinals to come up just short. Indianola is now 4-11 on the season and play Perry on the road on Friday.
