Phase 2 work on the Indianola Downtown Reconstruction Project continued this week on Salem and Howard, including the installation of the underground electrical conduit and the bore holes being filled. The Phase 1 benches were installed on the west and south side of the square, and moisture and density testing also completed.
Over the next week, roadway paving will begin on Salem Ave beginning with travel lanes and curbs, and the intersection of Salem and 1st St will be paved. Beginning the week of May 23rd, the replacement of the sidewalk on the northside of Salem from the 1st Street intersection to the alleyway (not in front of any business); a small portion of sidewalk on the southside of Salem from the 1st Street intersection to Crouse Café ramp will also be replaced.
