The Pella Christian boys golf team wrapped up their season Monday in the District Tournament at Lincoln Valley Golf Course in State Center with a 6th place finish. 

The young Eagles squad struggled through the first few holes on the unfamiliar course, but recovered for a team score of 334, the second lowest score for P.C. on the season. Eliot Menninga was the low golfer for Pella Christian on Monday, finishing tied for 16th after carding an 81. Isaiah Breems had an 83 on the day, followed by Cooper Spronk with an 84 which was his lowest score of the season. Kyle Gao shot an 86, Dane Geetings carded an 88, and Deacon Branderhorst rounded out the lineup with a 95.

With the conclusion of the season the Eagles golf squad will lose just one member of the varsity lineup to graduate in Kyle Gao. 

In a rematch of last season’s Regional Final, the Pella and Pella Christian girls tennis teams will faceoff in this year’s Regional Final today at 1 p.m. to qualify for the the Class 1A round of eight. The two squads met on May 2nd to wrap up the regular season, with the #3 ranked Dutch winning 10-1. The winner of today’s match will advance to play the winner of #5 ranked Assumption and Maharishi for the first state match on Saturday at Grinnell High School.
