The Melcher-Dallas Softball Squad cruised to an easy 12-2 win over Mormon Trail while the baseball squad suffered a tough 3-2 setback to the other Saints in the Bluegrass Conference on Tuesday. Melcher-Dallas racked up nine hits led by Kasyn Reed going 3/5 and three RBI. Summer Karpan, BrieAnna Remster, who had two hits, Peyton Anderson and Saydi Benz all collected RBIs. Benz got the win going three innings giving up one run on three hits with three strikeouts and Remster finished it off. Meanwhile over on the baseball field the Saints fell behind 2-0 early on and could not get back the runs given up. The Saints committed two errors and struck out 15 times at the plate. Logan Godfrey and Owen Suntken had multi hit games with Suntken getting both RBIs. Johnny Milburn took the loss for Melcher-Dallas going six innings giving up three runs on eight hits, three walks and four strikeouts. Softball is 3-1 and will travel to Moulton-Udell on Thursday while baseball is 1-3 and plays at Pleasantville tonight.
