Heffron and Streigle would do the rest, combining to strike out nine Albia batters and issue just two walks. Coach Carla Smith tells KNIA/KRLS Sports it is fun to watch her pitching staff no matter who is in the circle.

Smith: “We’re doing a great job of moving the ball around, and we’re constantly getting 3-4 innings from everyone, and our offense is getting opportunities to put the ball in play.”

Emma Dunkin also had a big bat going 3/3 and scoring three of the four Knoxville runs. The Panthers are now 7-1 and head to Davis County tonight.

The Knoxville Baseball Squad fell to Albia on Wednesday night 3-1. The Panthers only had four hits on the night and Coach Turner Devore says that number has to increase for his team to win games. Knoxville is now 7-5 on the season and will have an unusual day of activity today. First off the Panthers will head to Oskaloosa to finish off a game that was suspended due to rain, after that, Knoxville will head to Davis County for a makeup from another rain out which is scheduled to start at 7:30
