A pair of Little Hawkeye Conference baseball rivals will meet for the first time this season Monday when the Norwalk Warriors travel to Indianola to face the Indians at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live by KNIA-KRLS.com on KNIA3, with pregame coverage starting at approximately 7:15.

Norwalk enters the game with records of 12-8 overall and 4-5 in the Little Hawkeye. The Warriors have lost three of their last four games following a successful stretch in which they won eight of nine.

Indianola went 4-1 last week, including a doubleheader split against 2nd-ranked (Class 3A) Grinnell on Monday. The Indians, 13-6 overall, currently reside in second place in the Little Hawkeye standings with a mark of 6-2.

Norwalk, the 2021 Little Hawkeye champion, won two out of three meetings with Indianola last summer. The Warriors prevailed by scores of 4-1 and 5-1 before the Indians won the third matchup 4-3.

The two teams will face off again in a varsity doubleheader set for June 29 in Norwalk.
