The Indianola softball team swept Pella in a Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheader Wednesday evening, 8-3 in game one and 13-8 in game two heard live on 94.3 KNIA.

The Indians struck first in game one with a Kiley Kindelspire RBI hit, but Pella hit back with two runs from hits by Thea Wisse and Katie Pollock to lead 2-1. That lead held for an inning, but the Indians struck for four in third taking advantage of a Pella error, and an RBI single from Izzy Sloan and an RBI double by Hanna Graham. The Indians added another two in the fourth on a Mara Bishop home run and a Kindelspire sacrifice fly, and another in the sixth. The Dutch answered with a run in the sixth with a Catrina Dixson hit, but that would be the only scoring for the rest of the game for either team.

Game two had the Indians again strike first with a Sloan RBI hit and scoring on two wild pitches, then added another three in the second with a three-run shot by Jordyn Gripp, and added another in the fourth off of another wild pitch to lead 7-0. Pella then scored four unanswered by taking advantage of Indianola miscues and free baserunners in addition to an RBI double by Kylie Tauke.

The close game did not hold for long however, as the Indians added another six in the sixth inning by taking advantage of Pella errors and an RBI hit from Brynn Ortlund, but Pella answered immediately scoring another four in the sixth themselves off of errors, but that would be as close as the Dutch got.

Pella drops to 8-12 overall and 4-7 in conference play, and travel to Norwalk tomorrow, while Indianola improves to 14-7 and 9-2 and travels back to Pella to take on Pella Christian tomorrow.
